Constructing a group research and development project management platform to enhance process development progress and quality control efficiency.

Building context/challenges.

In the expansion project at the Kaohsiung plant, to accommodate the unique advanced processes and flexible production capacity of ASE, as well as diverse production lines, various factors such as flexibility utilization, internal and external enterprise needs, the necessity of knowledge transfer records, and the characteristics of R&D work were considered. In recent years, ePMS and PLM* have been successively implemented and introduced, along with the PMS* project management collaboration system - ezteamwork developed by Monmouth Technologies. These systems not only strengthen the development processes related to products and establish engineering informatization but also have a flexible system architecture that can integrate internal systems of the enterprise, meeting ASE's management needs in R&D processes.

Solutions

The R&D management solution provided by Monmouth Technologies not only features a comprehensive R&D management system but also offers well-established management process mechanisms. The ezteamwork collaboration platform can further incorporate the APQP* (Advanced Product Quality Planning) development phases into system management. Its scope of control covers project initiation/closure, schedule progress, milestones, tasks themselves, output documents, risk management, manpower costs, and issues arising from work, enabling comprehensive oversight of the overall work quality in R&D. In addition to R&D, it has also been introduced in process-related projects to expand the scope of application of project management.
