Building context/challenges.

Over the past fifty years of development, TUMAK has customers spread across the north, central, and southern regions of Taiwan. For TUMAK, each construction project represents a customer, and simultaneously serving two to three hundred customers. The management quickly realized that without a comprehensive information system supporting them, they would struggle to effectively manage future market growth. As they anticipate serving five hundred or even one thousand customers, relying solely on traditional methods becomes impractical. While the company has implemented an ERP system, it is primarily used for inventory management, sales, and financial management in the manufacturing department. However, for the project-based nature of the engineering department, this system is not suitable. As a result, they still rely on manual operations and paper forms, with all information controlled by one manager. This often leads to delayed information dissemination and passive service, resulting in numerous customer complaints, especially when dispatching work is not timely.

TUMAK has implemented the engineering management solution provided by Monmouth Technologies to construct a cloud-based information management platform for the planning, execution, and monitoring of engineering projects. The primary unit involved in this implementation is the engineering department responsible for the installation and maintenance of construction elevators. With the online platform, the team can now create all engineering projects, schedule the progress of installation projects, and arrange subsequent maintenance tasks, all relying on the system's automatic scheduling capabilities.

In addition to establishing the project management system, the consultants also guided the team to integrate work order management into the platform. They developed a dispatch mechanism that is synchronized with project tasks, allowing dispatch orders to be created directly from the system. This integration enables real-time alignment between dispatch information and project progress, providing managers with more accurate scheduling of field engineers.
